"...an outstanding, no-nonsense introduction to planning and planting the home landscape... Highly recommended..."

This instructional video, the second in a three-part series is an outstanding, no-nonsense introduction to planning and planting the home landscape. While this program also includes a brief introduction to the basics of planning the residential landscape, its main thrust is the selection of the best plants for the site, taking into consideration criteria such as hardiness zone, sun exposure, and soil condition. It also provides very useful information about color combinations and gives helpful warnings about common mistakes made by beginning landscapers. Presenter (Don) Marquardt takes the viewer along on a trip to a nursery, showing how to pick out the best plants there. He then demonstrates clearly how to prepare the soil and install the plants. Marquardt has an excellent instructional style, and the video has extremely fine production vales. Highly recommended for public libraries and technical colleges.
